Summary:
The Power Plant Instrument Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accurate calibration and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems within the power plant. Responsibilities:
1. Perform routine and scheduled calibration activities for various instruments and control systems, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, level indicators, and control valves.
2. Conduct calibration checks, adjustments, and repairs to ensure accurate readings and optimal performance of all instruments.
3. Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation issues, identifying and resolving problems efficiently to minimize downtime and maximize plant productivity.
4. Utilize calibration equipment and software tools to perform calibrations accurately and document results according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
5. Maintain calibration records, equipment logs, and documentation ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
6. Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize instrument calibration activities, ensuring minimal impact on plant operations.
7. Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for instrumentation and control systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in instrumentation, electrical, or a related field is preferred.
2. Proven experience as an Instrument Calibration Technician or similar role within a power plant or industrial setting.
3. In-depth knowledge of instrument calibration techniques, procedures, and standards, including NIST guidelines.
4. Strong understanding of various types of instruments and control systems used in power plant operations.
5. Familiarity with calibration equipment, tools, and software used for calibration activities.
6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
7. Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing instrumentation issues, using appropriate test equipment.
8. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and precision in performing calibration activities.
